Fun-filled Summer Events at Ickworth Fantastic family events planned for the Summer months at Ickworth… June Sunday 8th June - Vineyard Discovery Day Explore Ickworth’s vineyard with a self-guided trail. See where the grapes are grown for the award-winning Ickworth wines and finish off with some wine tasting. Wednesday 18th June - Aesops Fables at Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds Three actors and a one-man-band combine with a host of colourful characters to magically recreate the most enchanting stories ever told, including The Hare and the Tortoise, The Goose that Laid the Golden Egg and The Boy Who Cried Wolf. Performance lasts about 60 minutes. Recommended for children aged 4 and above. Saturday 28th June - Farmily Fun Day with Sheep Shearing at Jimmy’s Farm The weather is getting warmer and the sheep are too hot! Come along and see the farm sheep shearing in action! Performed in true Shakespearian style with an all-male cast, relevant costume, music and dance, to fire the imaginations of young and old alike. Thursday 7th August Children’s Victorian Cookery Workshop A great family event and a chance to discover what people were eating from the top table in the grand dining room to the lowliest servant in the depths of the Kitchen. Learn to make summer pudding for the lady of the house, plum bread for the gardeners and Yorkshire puddings for the master of the house. Having cooked all morning we will eat our feast followed by an afternoon of games in the orchard, homemade lemonade and delicious cakes.
