Activities May Half-Term Activities at Ickworth From Saturday 24th May - Saturday 31st May 2008 we will be running sports work shops. Sessions will be held on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 2.30pm-5.30pm. You don’t have to stay for all 3 hours just come along and join in when you can. Workshops are free of charge and are for 5 years and up. You do not need to book, just arrive at the tennis court on the day. Activities include an hours group tennis coaching from our fully qualified coach, kwik cricket, football and hockey. The workshops are designed for you to have fun and hang out with new friends, whilst you brush up on your sports skills. No sports workshop would be complete without football training so we will be including ball control, defending, attacking and penalty shoot outs. So why not join in and you can look forward to an afternoon of fun and excitement Please wear trainers and suitable clothes, we will provide refreshments. Horse Riding The original stables at Ickworth can now offer horse riding for hotel and apartment guests. Guests from 5yrs and over can experience either a walk on a lead rein or a hack, around the beautiful 1800 acre National Trust estate, whether you are a beginner or an experienced rider. You will always be accompanied by a qualified instructor, who will guide you and your family on a truly unforgettable experience. Lessons can be booked on either a half hour or one hour basis, at allocated times from 10am to 3:30pm. 7 days a week! Prices are £30.00 per person for half an hour and £47.00 per person for one hour. Due to this popularity of this activity, bookings must be made prior to arrival. Tennis Coaching We can arrange one to one tennis coaching at the hotel with our qualified instructor Marlene. Each lesson is tailored according to ability and can be booked for either children or adults. All lessons must be pre booked at reception, and cost £35.00 an hour. We can supply rackets and balls. Swimming Lessons Each lesson is tailored to your needs, whether you are a non swimmer, improver or experienced swimmer wanting to brush up on your style. Small children must be able to float with armbands as the pool is 1.4 meters deep. We suggest you arrive at the pool a few minutes before your lesson in a bathrobe and costume to avoid having to wait for a changing room. All sessions are half an hour long and cost £15.00 per person. Please advise us of any medical conditions prior to booking your lesson. Wildlife Tour Why not try an Ickworth Wildlife Tour on a 4X4 Mule, this tough Kawasaki will take you off road around the estate on a trail of discovery. You will go in search of Munkjack, Roe and Fallow deer, badger sets, fox earths and the Ickworth Hare. As you go deeper into the park you may be able to spot the kestrels and other birds of prey swooping and weaving above the parkland. Admire the majesty of Ickworth House from a far and discover rare treasures including a scale model of the house hidden in a secret location and the mystery of the obelisk. Quiz Andy, your host on life at Ickworth when the Marquis was in residence, the parties, the shoots, the gossip…… The tour will last about 90 minutes and cost £85.00 per family. The Mule seats 5 people and is covered during the winter months. It has seat belts, but you may wish to take a car seat for younger children. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
