Traditionally March arrives with the promise of warm sunshine, spring flowers, and longer days.
This year February gave us all a head start on spring with some gorgeous sunny days that has woken up our 1800 acres of parkland at Ickworth early and rather beautifully.
It is hard to have a favourite time of year on the estate but after the grey days of winter the carpet of daffodils and tulips in all their glory is a welcome burst of colour, add the spring lambs ambling across the parkland and it is all rather idyllic on the Ickworth estate in early spring.
For families with pre-school children this is a great time of year to take a midweek break, the1800 acres will be yours to explore at leisure, younger children love the spring flowers and really seem to enjoy getting outside again.
It is a busy time of year for our Den team too with lots of spring and Easter themed activities to keep our youngest guests busy. Whilst they are making cotton tailed bunnies and finger painting Easter chicks, you can of course unwind with a pampering spa treatment or just enjoy a couple of hours of down time.
March is a month for celebrating special days too, Shrove Tuesday on March 5th, it goes without saying there will be pancakes on the menu. St Patricks Day on Sunday 17th March, a drop of the black stuff will of course be available and when the spring equinox on the 20th March officially marks the start of spring we hope there will be plenty of spring flowers in bloom.
Sunday 31st March is Mother’s Day and we will be celebrating it in style at Ickworth, Sunday lunch, afternoon tea and lots of great gift ideas for pampering treats.
Join us in March to celebrate 30 years of Luxury Family Hotels with our special celebration break, from only £329 for a two night stay with dinner, a glass of Champagne on arrival and cream tea for two! Find out more
Let’s enjoy all that March brings; the brighter days, carpets of daffodils, fun things like Pancake Day and a general desire to get back outside.
We look forward to seeing you at Ickworth again soon.
