The great thing about a new year is that there are so many things to do in the twelve months ahead!
At Ickworth when it comes to finding great things to fill the calendar for the year ahead we are really lucky, our nearest neighbour the beautiful Ickworth House, a National Trust property, has a whole range of events happening in 2019.
Visit Suffolk run a full diary of events year round and the county is going to be filled with the sound of music this year as local boy Ed Sheeran will be performing in August and family friendly Lattitude Festival returns in July.
We have picked a few highlights you might like and of course any event is made infinitely more fun when you combine it with a stay at the Ickworth, we look forward to welcoming you this year.
- Monday 11th February - A seasonal walk through the snowdrops
- Saturday 16th February – Children’s craft work shops, make your own outdoor adventure activity book.
- Saturday 9th March - World Book Day Celebrations – hunt for bookworms amongst the 8000 volumes of books they might be hiding in!
- Wednesday 27th March – 1930’s Cooking in the Kitchen – Join the Living History cooks as they bake in the 1930’s way.

10 days of music, theatre and film with an eclectic mix of artists, events and venues.
A traditional agricultural show, dating back 187 years, it is one of the biggest in the country. Expect a mix of agricultural events, competitions, displays and products, artisan food and drink suppliers, country-wear, entertainment and more! This is a great day out for everyone.
Held in Henham Park Southwold, Latitude Festival was voted Best Family Festival 2018, this award recognises festivals that cater for families in terms of facilities and entertainment. If you thought post children that you had hung up your festival wardrobe forever, think again, this could be the one for you! We do of course highly recommend a stay with us on the way home to recharge and reset before stepping back into reality.
As you would expect from a home-coming local boy, Ed Sheeran is a sell out at Chantry Park in August. The gorgeous village of Framlingham was the setting for his video the “Castle on the hill”. Super fans can enjoy tracing Ed’s steps and discover the Ed Sheeran Suffolk Coast. If you are lucky enough to have a ticket why not come and stay with us?
